Hiccups
In which Yamimash eats his food too quickly

Yami covered his mouth. Red covered his cheeks as Mark looked at him.

           “Did you just-?”

           “No I hic! did not!”

Mark laughed, watching as his dear boyfriend struggling to regain control of the actions taking place. “This is by far the most adorable thing you’ve done since we started dating, babe.”

“Not hic! funny, Mark!” Yami’s accent excluded the r.

Mark chuckled, standing from the table when he noticed Yami starting to hold his breath. “Want me to go get you some water?”

The British male nodded, and Mark left the room for a moment. When he came back, he held in his hand a glass of water, handing it to Yami. The Brit took a big gulp, tilted his head back, and swallowed.

           “That better?” Mark asked.

Yami waited a moment, to see if it had worked, before answering. “Yeah!”

“Good,” Mark smirked, “That was way too cute for me.”

           “Hic!”

Hiccups
In which the queen-sized bed is for one, causing the relationship to reach a bump in the road

“Nice try, Mark,” Yami snapped, using his right leg to kick behind him, managed to knock Mark to the floor. The latter had tried to snuggle up behind his lover on the bed, in an attempt to see if everything was well between them, and show he still cared. Obviously, Yami was still bitter over the things said earlier. “You’re sleeping on the couch, at most.”

Grumbling, Mark took one of the pillows that wasn’t being used, as well as a blanket from the closet that had begun to feel familiar to him. It wasn’t even that good of a blanket, but he was stuck with it whenever he and Yami “forgot to make up,” which was quite often.

Yami heard the bedroom door close. He sighed in content, feeling that he might get a good night’s rest now that Mark wouldn’t be there. He could be really annoying sometimes.

But still, it was cold. Yami shivered, and he found himself regretting the decision to make Mark go away. Not just for his warmth, but for his love. Mark was always willing to show Yami he cared, even when he least expected it. Thoughtful gestures and- okay, he needed Mark.

Quietly, Yami looked over at the clock, seeing a few hours had passed, and then at the door.

The next morning, Mark was surprised to find that, though he was still on the couch, Yami was snuggled up next to him, still asleep, as if they’d drifted off while watching a movie. Sighing, he pecked Yami’s cheek.

Hiccups
In which mistakes were made

Awkwardly, Yami and Mark stood. It had been five months since they had ended their six month relationship, but neither, though they’d never admit it to each other, had been able to move on. The two had been so perfect for one another, nobody had pushed for details as to why they had split apart.

But everyone asked why they didn’t just get back together. It was obvious they were miserable without each other, but it wasn’t that simple. Complicated things, the entire relationship had started going downwards right before their breakup.

           “Yami?”

           “Yeah?”

“Do you wanna give it another shot?”

Smiling, Yami nodded. Almost immediately after the movement, his lips were against Mark’s, in one of the best kisses of his lifetime.

Hiccups
In which Mark drinks

Mark groaned. Through blurry eyesight, the clock on the bedside table told him it was three thirty-something… Was that a nine? Zero? Eight? Stupid alcohol, it was messing with him. Looks like watering down the beer hadn’t done him any good; he drank too much of it. Still, it had taken his mind off of his worries for a moment, but now they returned.

“Hic!” Mark hiccuped, under the influence. He’d had enough to irritate his diaphragm, resulting in this horrible case of the hiccups-through-alcohol. They’d be gone by the morning, but he wasn’t drunk enough to forget them. He wasn’t drunk enough to forget Yami, either.

They weren’t an item anymore, one could say, and Mark wasn’t taking that too well, if the multiple beer bottles and deterioration of cleanliness inside the apartment weren’t enough evidence for that claim. Still, he found it hard to believe that after all this time, he and Yami weren’t together.

Mark sobbed, “Yamhic!iiiii!” Tears streamed down his face.

            He just... wanted Yami.
And this is why I was on kidshealth.com
Because I was too afraid I'd find information relevant to the question, "What happens when someone has hiccups while pregnant?"
That stuff be scary, man.
